Whole school award system
Londonderry Public School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning school. Our students are Safe, Respectful, Active Learners.
Our whole school award system
- Caught you being good’ tokens focusing on the Safe, Respectful, Active Learners will be handed out in any setting, at any time across the school when staff see students meeting the taught expectations. These ‘caught you being good’ tokens will be collected in a class box and taken to the whole school Friday assembly where they are placed in a draw and four students are randomly drawn from the box. These students will receive rewards at the assembly.
- The 'caught you being good' tokens will then be placed in a large clear container in the front office. This container will have milestone markers, and as each marker is met, students will receive whole school rewards such as an extra 20 minutes of play etc if they meet the marker.
- The Londonderry Lion will continue to be our PBL logo. At our whole school Friday assemblies, he will be awarded to the most respectful class at the assembly
- At each whole school assembly two Merit Awards and two Quality Work Awards. for each class will be awarded.
- Each teacher will also have Class Merit Awards to be given out in their classrooms
Bronze, Silver, Gold Awards and Principal's Medallion
-
Each student will receive an award booklet. When a student achieves 8 awards (Merit, Class and /or Quality Work Awards) in their booklet they achieve their Bronze Award.

The office staff will then place their name on the principal assembly award list and sign the booklet off so they can be presented with their award at the next Principal’s Assembly at the end of the term.
-
Students and parents will be responsible for keeping their booklet. Once students have achieved all awards in their booklet (Bronze, Silver, Gold awards and Principal’s Medallion) they will receive a new booklet and start again.

All Bronze, Silver, Gold and Principal’s Medallion award winners will have an invitation sent to their families to attend the assembly.
